This is a collection of memories I have of Zilker Park in Austin, Texas (circa 1974-77). I usually went there on Sunday mornings to play soccer, but the only occasion that I was there at night is captured here. It was a warm, mysterious summer night and some family and friend celebrations were going on at the swimming hole called Barton Springs. I added a solo flutes to the standard big band instrumentation to add to the mystery in the beginning and the joy at the end. It is a florid part and bumped this piece into the difficult category.
