This is my own arrangement for concert band of the Tyneside (Geordie) Traditional melody Bobby Shaftoe.
It is movt 3 of a suite I have written, the other ones being The Lambton Worm (march),Cushie Butterfield (slow movt) and Blaydon Races (march in 6/8).
This movt is fun to play and your horns will particularly like the high discord after letter F!!
The movt modulates into a minor key in the middle third and finds it’s way back into the major again at the finish.
It has been played in public by my own band the Alnwick Playhouse Concert Band.
