The inspiration for this piece came to me after watching a speech given by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, and President Obama, when they visited Buchenwald. Mr. Wiesel stated: "We must continue believing in a future, because the world has learned. But again, the world hasn't. Had the world learned, there would have been no Cambodia and no Rwanda and no Darfur and no Bosnia."
It is a dark piece in which I felt compelled to add a brief section which represented some hope. But, in the end, we are quickly reminded of the reality of our world today.
