"Hyakunin' isshu" means one hundred people created one poet each and that makes one hundred.Collections not famous name poets to very respected poets. We often call Karuta which has the portrait of a poet and poem written on the cards. In the game, the chairperson read the first half of the poet and the two participants try to fight each other, the winner will be the second half poet card taken in front of them faster than the opponent.
The oldest poet is chosen in the year 694. The latest one is up to the year 1200.
Emperor Tennji's poet was created for the scene of his rice harvest, and tried to understand the ordinary people who live in agriculture. He had rain while his harvest and evacuated to the little hut where the rain came into his clothes wet.
Such a sensitive and beautiful poet.
