(1998) For two violins and viola.
"The Double Helix" was completed during the first semester of my junior year of college. It was inspired by one of my friend’s professors, whose specialty is DNA. He plays viola and his two sons play violin. DNA appears throughout the piece, in harmonic form and rhythmic form (Morse Code), as well as many other spiraling qualities. "The Double Helix" was not performed until the Composers Concert during the first semester of my senior year.
