Spool is a composition that features guitar or keyboard playing a syncopated motif that explores all twelve transpositions of the augmented major 7 chord. At the end of the A section is an Indian rhythmic process called a Korvai. The contrasting B section is in 7 with an expanding-contracting rhythmic scheme in the drums. This can be substited for a 3+7 line (predominantly) for less advanced players
