Programme Note: Songs to Sing and Play is intended as a classroom resource for those teaching primary school children. Each song includes a vocal line with chord symbols, a part for descant recorder which shadows the voice, and accompaniment lines for treble recorder, metallophone and xylophone and tambourine. Other instruments may be substituted to play these accompanyng instrumental lines. Transpositions of the melody parts for instruments in Bb are included. Those songs suitable to be sung and played as rounds have been written out too.
