Two shepherds, who are old friends, meet on the road to Bethlehem. They chat informally about the amazing apparition one of them saw last night. At first, the other shepherd is sceptical but, eventually, both head off to Bethlehem together to pay homage to the baby Jesus. The choir sings in 2 parts - one part for each shepherd.

Everybody loves performing this fun song! I’ve received enthusiastic feedback from choirs around the world across all age ranges - primary, secondary, sixth form, university, community choirs and senior citizens. Some dress up, use props, show placards etc. Just have fun with it in your own way - it’s loose and informal. The text of the song faithfully includes the key events of the bible story. Those events are presented within a vernacular conversation that also adds the shepherds' personal reactions and feelings.
