You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.This was originally written for the Arpeggione (a sort of guitar, played like a cello) which slipped into obscurity almost as soon as it arrived. These days, it is usually arranged for cello or viola - not entirely satisfactory, as neither have the range of the original. It is, nevertheless, a great piece of mature Schubert, and, in this arrangement, I have tried to create Schubert’s ’string quartet’ feel, with lots of scope for dialogue between the players.
