I had the grand opening idea of this piece after studying the Masses of Bruckner. The idea was to create a large scale choral and orchestral work in the late romantic idiom. It was conceived in four main sections - the opening, an a capella centre section, a recapitulation of the opening theme and a grand fugue to conclude. The first performance, in a reduced orchestration took place in November 2005.
There is a vocal score available where the orchestral score has been arranged for the organ to facilitate performance where an orchestra is not available.
