(1998) For marimba solo.
"Return to Grace" was composed during the first semester of my junior year of college. It was inspired by such pieces as "Yellow After the Rain" by Mitchell Peters, "Rhythm Song" by Paul Smadbeck and "Jeux d’eau" by Maurice Ravel. In one section, the chord progression is based on the name of my then girlfriend. I performed "Return to Grace" in the Composers Concert during that same semester and also in my senior recital, during the second semester of my senior year.
