For some reason I programmed this is in cut time, then subsequently changed it to 4/4, which it’s really in; but it still plays back in Sibelius with a shuffle. I don’t know about your church, but I would get in trouble if I played the psalm with a shuffle. It’s supposed to be played in straight 4/4.

Come to think of it there is one song we play during Advent that has a shuffle, and people really like it - Andrae Crouch’s "Soon and Very Soon." Which reminds me of another piece of trivia: My kids were watching "The Lion King" today, and in the end credits, it lists Andrae Crouch as one of the choral conductors! I never knew that!

May all the saints pray for us, we sure need it! Who’s your favorite saint? Mine has got to be St. Anthony. Speaking of the saints, let me suggest a great book - it’s called "Sermons of the Cure of Ars." It’s the transcripts of the homilies of St. John Vianney. Many of the saints focus on the mercy of God. St. John Vianney is fire and brimstone! But it’s very convicting and has helped me a great deal in my walk with the Lord. It’s put out by TAN Books. Like the psalmist, St. John is adamant about pastoring a people that long to see the face of God, and not have to spend time in Purgatory before they do!
