BLESSED ARE ALL THEY THAT FEAR THE LORD from Wedding Anthem (1736)

Music in Handels day was just as important at celebratory and festive occasions as it is today; the Coronation Anthems for the crowning of the sovereign, the Royal Fireworks and of course the Water Music which was played immediately behind the royal barge on the Thames were all accompanied by the most incredible music. Today as is the case with a lot of Handels music this aria from the Anthem written for the Wedding of Prince Frederick and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Coburg in 1736 is very popular as a wedding Recessional.
