This is the third movement of the Quintet for oboe, harp and string trio worked out as a remodelling of the Sonata for Violin and Harp (2000) (pub. Salvi). The challenge in this movement was to devise suitable textures in place of the cadenza-like passages fro solo vioin. As with the other two movements the piece is based on a metrical conceit (expanding and contracting passages in proportion to each other, to the movement and to the work as a whole). It is virtually impossible not to write in a diatonic language when writing for harp such that the music is joyfully tonal wherever required. The same with idiomatic harp technique. The tempo should not be too Allegro - not 'pell-mell'. As usual, a MIDI realization is appended. All broadcast and recording rights are reserved. Instrumental parts can be provided on request.
