You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. This uses the same note row as my earlier quatuor ? cordes i, and is also an offshoot from the compressed original composition. It is also an exploration of creating a more tonally orientated composition using a series.
Instead of holding everything together by the concept of sonata form, this falls into five distinct sections, which should be played with as short a break as possible.
The opening refrain is followed by a scherzo. The ?Minuet? is very fast and quiet, scampering in a restricted compass between the instruments. The ?Trio? is antiphonal play between the pairs.
The second appearance of the refrain is played faster and with changes in playing articulation, etc. This is followed by a nocturnal movement.
The refrain finally returns at speed with more slight changes in articulation etc.
