Preludes 1,2 & 3 are published by Bardic Edition ~ www.bardic-music.com/ ~ I hope to self publish Nos. 4-9 here at the Sibelius Music website and have started here today (November 2005) with No.4 which is to be included in my forthcoming CD 'Piano Colours' to be recorded by concert pianist Louis Demetrius Alvanis who premiered this work at St John's Smith Square, London in the mid-1990's. The CD will be issued by record company Meridian. Prelude No.4 uses both forwards and backwards dotted rhythms. The backwards rhythm at the beginning (sometimes called a Scotch snap) makes me think of the music as being slightly Scottish. It can also be reminiscent of bell-ringing depending on how it is performed. The forward rhythm sounds slightly Russian to my ear and wanders off into B or F sharp - rather distant keys from the opening G major variant.
