The Petite Suite was composed between 1886 and 1889 and was inspired, as was Clair de Lune, by Paul Verlaine's Fetes Galantes. Originally for two piano duet, this version lends itself nicely to guitar trio. A TAB version is also available for those who prefer the more modern approach or are less confident with reading music. The artificial harmonics in guitars 1 and 2 are suggestions, with a cutaway the fretboard becomes more accessible in the higher ranges and these notes can be played an octave higher instead. This arrangement is playable by intermediate guitarists from grade 3/4 upwards. Guitar 1 has some high note chops but these are quite playable with practice.
