Here they are - three brand new pieces by three brand new composers from Castletown Primary School!
Miss Watson set her class homework "Write a tune you can play for descant recorder" and they all did a great job!
I chose these three tunes by Jamie, Ewan and Colin to arrange for the first Caithness Schools Bell Festival because they suited the bells so well and it was easy for me to give everyone in the team plenty to do.
Wish us luck for the premiere - Colin’s piece, "Commonwealth Games Anthem" is particularly challenging, starting with five beats in a bar and changing to six! I’m very sure our 65 young bellringers will have no trouble at all sightreading this tune, rehearsing it with our conductor Susie Dingle and then performing its world premiere to the whole school on the same day. :)
