The tune probably has Irish origins. This quartet version has been arranged for strings. I’ve arranged it for Clarinet Quartet, Flute Quartet and used this tune in my Australian Folksong Medley No. 3 for Concert Band, Orchestra and Brass Band. This traditional tune was also featured in the film "The Man From Snowy River". Let me know how it goes with your String Quartet or group!
