It is based on a sermon given by Vivian Boland OP in Advent 2008. The original version in d minor has been performed successfully by a solo mezzo soprano, but that key may be a little high for most congregations, with more than one top F. This version in C minor is more suitable for congregational singing. It does have a huge range, but only one semitone more than the popular harvest hymn We Plough the Fields and Scatter.
