Later I added the other two movements, Nocturne and Pageant, to create a suite. The whole work is dedicated to my native city of London - not the mess it is today, but the London I remember as a child, full of a sense of identity and history. That rich history and many colourful associations are what I had in mind when writing the music; there are a few obvious quotes, but in general it doesn't refer to any specific events. Any of the three movements may be played on its own. If interested in a performance, please contact me for a free set of parts.
