You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.A slightly wistful interpretation of this traditional Canadian melody, arranged for flute and two clarinets. Part 2 (Clarinet) is appropriate for a pupil approaching ABRSM Grade 1 standard, while Parts 1 & 3 are better suited to players of Grade 2+. There is also a lower octave version of Part 1 that can be played by oboe – this requires good control of low notes and also provides an exercise in the use of forked F fingering.
The piece can also be performed by a larger ensemble, with several players to a part. Optional extras include a bassoon part well within the scope of a Grade 1 player and an easy flute part with a range of only 3 notes.
This arrangement of Land of the Silver Birch is relatively straightforward but requires (and promotes) expressive playing. It has proved a big favourite with ensembles of adult learners.
