In this transcription for flute and piano this makes a very attractive solo suitable for concerts, festivals etc. Kohler was a fine flautist and composer who wrote many good studies for flute that are very tuneful. He might be likened to Chopin who also wrote very fine studies for the piano. It is of moderate difficulty but more advanced players may play it with the contrasted, but more difficult, Kohler study, also transcribed for flute and piano by Gordon Heard that he entitles "La Capricieuse".
