A showcase for Alto Saxophone transcribed from Saint-Saëns’ original for solo violin and orchestra. The key has been changed and the solo part adapted to accommodate the more limited range of the saxophone and the need to breath. There is one top 'A' and a 'G#' (with alternatives given) and an 'F#' key would be useful.
The MP3 gives a good impression of what is possible - I am a little rusty and my scales are not as smooth as I would like (and I wish I had a top 'F#' key), and I would expect a more accomplished performer to take some sections a little faster.
This is a distillation of my version for Alto Saxophone and Wind Band.
