You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.’Gold, Silver & Bronze’ was written specifically for performance as part of the Cool Fusion Project - a major voluntary arts collaboration during the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The movement takes fragments from Franz Lehar’s ’Gold & Silver Waltz’, composed for the Grand Ball organised in Vienna by the Princess Metternich. The modern Olympics had just started and the movement’s opening mirrors more innocent times, when taking part in sport was as important as winning. Using electronic sounds, this music travels back to the early 20th century and journeys through the tragedy of two world wars, before fading into recent memory.
