This is a very well-known melody which may benefit from the simpler, more mediaeval-type vocal accompaniment I have scored here. Melody passes from sops (v.1) to basses (v.2) to tenors and basses (v.3) to sops and altos (v.4), with the last verse being unison up till the refrain, where the sops and altos burst out into joyful harmony in their upper range.
