You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. The "Polovtsian Dances" or "Polovetsian Dances" are perhaps the best known selections from Alexandra P. Borodin's opera "Prince Igor"
There have been many adaptations of the "Gliding Dance of the Maidens" or simply "Girl's Dance". In the 1950's it was known as the song "Stranger In Paradise" from the musical "Kismet". In 1940 Artie Shaw, a fantastic jazz clarinetist, recorded "My Fantasy" which has the tune almost identical to this dance.
This arrangement is intended as a "1st Solo with Orchestra", for youngsters to get a feel of soloing, and, also, the accompaning string parts are not difficult.
It can be performed without the piano part, which coincidently can be used as a condensed score.
