This arrangement is a tribute to George Butterworth whose premature death in the Great War robbed England of potentially one of its greatest composers. The arrangement is a fusion of some of Butterworth's better-known pieces including 'The Banks of Green Willow', 'Two English Idylls', 'A Shropshire Lad' and songs from the cycle of the same name. The instrumentation includes parts for tenor saxophone and horns in E flat which can be played by alto saxophones.
