Folksong suite written for SATB Recorders. Written to mark Michael Graham's official visits to Society of Recorder Player branches in the North of England. Branches included are Cumbria, Newcastle, and Durham. The Collier's Rant is a scherzo jig in a typical Northern dance. Do Ye Ken John Peel is a distant melody within an English, countryside landscape. The Belle of Newcastle is a more modern waltz melody with a lot of glitter and sparkly effects. The last movement Trip to Cartmel and Cartmel Fell uses light body percussion (foot stamps) and extended techniques (recorder foot joint 'pops') to ensure a toe-tapping finish!
