Duo No. 14 is known as Duo concertant No14, 1st movement. It is the largest and most sophisticated work in the numbered duo series. The work is in sonata form, with an exceptionally well-crafted development. The work was probably first published in October of 1904 in the Augsburg Guitar Club's Freie Vereinigung für das Förderung guter Guitaremusik Jahrgang No.1, Heft 5. Evidence from the Duo concertant No. 14, 2nd movement a printer's copy indicates that the words concertant and 2nd movement are an after thought, of an editor, perhaps Otto Hammerer, and not Darr.
