The piece works well as originally written, as an unaccompanied duet. I added the bass line shortly after the original duet. If you want to listen to the version without the bass part, it's listed as a separate score. Listen to both mp3 attachments, and see which you prefer. I'm undecided, and my students are split 50-50 as to which they prefer.
