This magnificent tune, the first (and arguably the finest) hymn-tune from Stainer’s ’Crucifixion’, makes a perfect marriage with Wesley’s fine words. This version of my descant is to be sung against Stainer’s original harmonies. A version with a special organ accompaniment is also available.
