This is a solo piece for flute with classical guitar written in the early classical style of Mozart or Haydn (a piano accompaniment version will follow shortly). It is in rounded binary form and offers the intermediate flute player (or even advanced beginner) a chance to explore compositional devices including use of themes and model-sequence techniques.
While not especially challenging from a technique standpoint, it challenges every player to use expressive elements including articulation, dynamics, and rubato to achieve the peaceful flowing emotions of a lullaby sung by a loving parent to a newborn baby.
Please e-mail carrmusic@gmail.com for a free MP3 recording of Craddle Waltz and the Craddle Waltz accompaniment track which you are welcome to use in concert and festivals without any additional cost or permissions required.
