If an instrument transcription of a masterpiece, like the Bach’s Chaconne from the Partita Nr 2 for Solo Violin, is an audacity or an arrogance, this choral transcription is both. For that I ask for the Bach’s forgiveness. Listening to the violin performance by Itzhak Perlman, the lyrics have been written in Portuguese. The process was not properly difficult, but emotional. It was like I wasn’t listening to the violin, but to the personages’ voices. Recently, the translation of the lyrics to the English was done as a poem which is published in the homepage. Also, in homage to the composer, a german version of this transcription is now available in SibeliusMusic.
