In this orchestration, I have attempted to imitate the organ sound with contrasting sections in which strings, winds or brass predominate. Throughout, Franck is exploring chromatic contrasts, creating a very rich texture.The climactic last 25 bars with full orchestra offer some of the most heroic sounds in the literature.
