This setting of the Gloria is designed to be used with the Revised Roman Missal. Until copyright permission is confirmed, the words do not appear under the vocal line, but can be sung by the congregation by following the text in their new missals. the setting is largely syllabic, with any melismas clearly indicated by slurs. The piano part is a Sibelius reduction of the original score (also available on Score Exchange) for string quartet with optional wind, so not particularly pianistic.
The original version of this Gloria was written for the congregation of the 9.30 Mass at the Priory of the Holy Spirit (Blackfriars, Oxford) and first sung there on September 25th, 2011, to general approval and with no problems. The parts are reasonably easy and were mastered by the musicians in a 10 minute rehearsal.
