This was originally a sonata movement for viola da gamba and harpsichord. It is a complex, and very linear piece of writing, so try playing as if you are making it up as you go. It should have that easy-going improvised feel to it. I have added my own ideas of expression and dynamics, which need not be taken too literally. Should you wish, insert your own.
