This is an arrangement of the first of Johann Anton André’s 6 Leichte Sonaten (Offenbach: André, n.d.) for 4 hands at one piano. They are in fact simple short ’sonatinas’, and adapt well for flutes in the original keys. Have fun! André himself composed in many genres, as well as running the family music publishing business at Offenbach, where he lived and died. He is best known today, perhaps, as the ’father of Mozart research’, for his foresight and business acumen in purchasing a considerable number of Mozart’s manuscripts from his widow, Constanza.
