His poetry is rather dated, and much of it is very definitely non-PC. Indeed, some would argue that he was racist. I tend to feel that he was just a product of his time. Even acknowledging the need for the great societal changes which have taken place since his time, I find that much of his work inspires an urge to composition in me.
