I have tried to follow the "rules" for writing for young band. The clarinets stay below the break for most of the piece and only play above it for a short period of time, but never cross it in any of the faster passages. The other instrumets stay withing there comfortable range. The main difficulty with this piece is the switching of meters between 3/4 and 4/4, but that is lesson I am trying to teach with this piece.
