"A First Flute" is a series of 9 tutors written by 2 distinguished flutists, beginning at the very first lesson and progressing to pre-college level. The early levels restrict the range of the flute to the range of scales expected at that particular grade. The cover page of each Level lists all the pieces and studies included. In addition, all of the scales and arpeggios usually expected at this level are included together with a few aural excercises. The studies improve sight reading and some are shown as being in current examination syllabi.
