This is my first piece for Wind Ensemble (hopefully not my last!)
The slow parts should be played with great drama, completely contrasting the marcato fast parts. The idea with the beginning is to build as much tension as possible - use multiple instruments on each of the low brass parts if possible.
The MP3 file is a recording of the world premiere by the Laurier Wind Ensemble, March 25th 2007. There are a couple of minor issues but overall it turned out fairly well.
