'Nocturne' was written when I was 14 desperately trying (and failing) to play Chopin's famous Eb Nocturne. There are obvious influences of Chopin in this very brief and simple nocturne. The piece consists of a simple theme played twice with very little variation. The piece was written to prove to a friend that the key of Cb major actually existed and although writing it out in B major would make it easier to read, I was proving a point (and winning a bet!)
