I have been involved in music most of my life, beginning with piano lessons at a young age. I chose to major in music in college, with piano as my major instrument and clarinet as a secondary instrument. I have Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in music education degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama and a Master of Music Education (M.M.E.) degree from Florida State University. I also hold a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from Florida State. I worked as a university professor for 14 years teaching Instructional Technology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I have gotten back into my music more fully in recent years, singing in the Grace Chancel Choir, and playing in Grace Ringers handbell choir at Grace United Methodist Church where I also occasionally play a piano solo or duet. Currently I teach piano lessons in my independent studio, "88 Keys Piano Studio," whose website is quickly becoming a popular resource for piano enthusiasts from all around the globe (see its web link below under "Favorite links"). I also sing in a professional quality choral group – the Cape Fear Chorale – in the community of Wilmington, North Carolina, where I reside. I serve on the Board of the Cape Fear Music Teachers Association, affiliated with Music Teachers National Association. The pieces I have composed here I humbly present as my first works, hoping to reflect some of the gratitude I feel towards God for keeping me here on earth. I am a 15-year Hodgkins lymphoma cancer survivor, and I feel that I am very fortunate to be able to reflect some of God's promises through music. I hope that some of you will discover something meaningful in what I have posted. I welcome any email from you. God's blessings upon you!
