Up until December 2017 all my music was downloadable for free. Unfortunately Score Exchange have imposed a uniform $1.50 charge - all proceeds I receive will go to Alzheimer Scotland.
I was organist and choirmaster at St Michael's Parish Church, Linlithgow, Scotland from 1989 until January 2018 Previously I was organist at Haggs Parish Church from 1974 to 1980 and then assistant organist in St Michael's. As of 1st November 2018 I will be organist at Fairmilehead Parish Church in Edinburgh. I studied Mathematics and Music at Glasgow University between 1976 and 1980.
In St Michael's there is a wonderful reconditioned Willis organ and a fantastic choir - and that is where a lot of my music was produced for.
The music includes organ pieces - such as Chorale Preludes for accompanying our Sunday Club youngsters moving around in the Church or other voluntaries which I have produced for our services in Holy Week based on Plainchant - and choir anthems to be used between readings from the Bible.
In the last few years at St Michael's, we embarked on a very active ministry directed towards children and their carers/parents/grandchildren and this resulted in the Seedlings Song and The Promise, which were written with the then Associate Minister Cheryl McKellar-Young(and Anne Sutherland, my much better half, in the case of the Seedlings Song).
Additionally I was involved in historical and dramatic productions and these required music which I arranged or composed. Thank you so much to the congregation, musicians and singers in St Michael's for all the times and music we shared. I hope you find something of use in my music.
