The title refers to something a composition tutor of mine once said to me, and I explored this idea (a little) in this piece.

You Can Never Have Too Much Of A Good Thing was written for The Coupland Brass Quintet, who have give its premiere at The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester on the 15th May 2004, and have subsequently performed it several times.

(Requires the tuba player to move at lightning quick speed with his/her mute at times, but it *is* possible!)
