A congregational worship song called 'Yesu Wa Shu' ('Jesus is Lord'), which was written to celebrate the work of our mission partners all around the world. Margaret Rugira (OMF) works with churches in Japan. During her short break from missions work, she came back to the UK to work alongside us at Christ Church, Cockfosters, north London, and while she was with us, we thought it would be a great opportunity to write a new song in Japanese. The verse is in English, and the chorus is in Japanese.
If this piece is used in congregational worship, please make sure to declare its use on your CCLI Licence.
The lyrics translate as:
– Shu wa dare? Who is the Lord?
– Yesu wa shu. Jesus is the Lord.
– Dare no shu? Lord of who?
– Zen seikai no shu. Lord of the whole world.
