Composed as a commission from the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts in Hamilton, Ohio. Each of the segments represented the aural impression of original works of art on display during the Fitton Center :Shifty" Exhibition. Similar in concept to "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky/Ravel, with one distinct difference.

The final "fugue" is based on an inversion of the main theme, as first stated by the French Horn. The fugue turns it upside down, as visual artist Billy Simms created something brand new on stage in front of the audience, using the sound of the "fugue" as his inspiration. As such, if done this way, each performance will be unique in that the artist on the scene will also be inspired in his or her own way.

The work, which lasts about 20 minutes, ends with a great summation coda for full orchestra.
