Wiegenlied or cradle song is another example of Darr�s dense chordal style. Much of the piece is fairly easy to play until measures 39-42 which demonstrates Darr�s in-depth understanding of the technical resources of the guitar. The work was probably first published in 1904 in the Augsburg Guitar Club�s Freie Vereinigung f�r das F�rderung guter Guitaremusik Jahrgang No.1, Heft III. A manuscript of this piece exists, which the printer followed quite faithfully, except for the penultimate measure, in which the harmonics should been notated an octave higher at the fifth fret.
