Lyrics: Excerpt from ‘Suzie Bitner Was Afraid of the Drain’ by Barbara Vance.
When something unfortunate happens to us, we would always tend to blame it on fate and magnify our unfortunate experiences. The lyrics of this song advises us to be optimistic. We should treasure the good things that happens to us, even as simple as appreciating the 'gentle dew' left by the rain. The two contrasting emotions are depicted with different tonality of the same melody, indicating that everything could be viewed in different angles, and by doing so, we could be optimistic or pessimistic.
